Norsk Biogass, the licencing  company for the unique BioSep technology wins innovation award June 2010

At last week’s waste management conference in Lillehammer, Norsk Biogass AS was presented with Avfall Norge’s  innovation award for 2010. Inventor and partner Bjørn Bu accepted the award on behalf of the company before an audience of over 700 delegates from Norway and abroad.

The innovation award celebrates advances in waste management. BioSep® technology from Norsk Biogass streamlines the pre-treatment of food waste for use in generating renewable energy.

In its citation, the jury listed three reasons for the award:
- BioSep® is fully developed and has proved itself to be of a high technical standard.
- BioSep® has proven benefits in that it solves the problem of removing packaging from food waste.
- BioSep® has the potential to be adopted worldwide as an innovative solution to depackaging of   foodwaste.

Norsk Biogass AS to upgrade EcoPro Biogas plant in Verdal, Norway.

Norsk Biogass wins contract to upgrade the pre – treatment processing line at the EcoPro plant. EcoPro is owned by 50 municipalities in the Mid – Norway region and receives sorted food waste and sludge from the owner municipalities. Norsk Biogass will replace the existing pre treatment equipment with Norsk Biogass award-winning BioSep ® technology.

The assignment represents a major breakthrough and an acceptance of the uniqueness of the BioSep ® technology.

The EcoPro plant was designed by Cambi AS and opened in March 2008.
